Membership

We welcome new members to the Association.

Membership is open to all with an interest in gemmology and who share the aims of the Association to promote interest in, and the study of, gemmology in Scotland

Our meetings, conferences and other events are open to members and their guests. Normally, we have several evening meetings through the year, most of which are open to anyone else who wishes to attend. If you are interested in coming along, you will be made welcome and your first meeting will be free. Thereafter you can pay by the meeting, currently £6.00, or £3.00 for a student, or join the Association. Each year we do have one or two workshops which are restricted by numbers. In these cases, a place must be reserved in advance by contacting sga@scottishgemmology.org or by using the Contact Form above.

Membership requires a subscription of £30.00 for ordinary members and £15.00 for a student attending full-time education.

An SGA member is entitled to a substantial discount to the delegate fee for our annual conference and also free attendance at our regular evening meetings

Every application will require approval from the Executive Committee of the SGA and the Committee reserve the right to reject an unsuitable application, where appropriate.

If you wish to apply for membership then please complete the form on the Membership page.

Alternatively, you can contact our Membership Secretary,  Katie Innes on membership@scottishgemmology.org.
